@CesarManiaX You know NOTHING about China. Shanghai is NOT a SEZ. Instead, Shenzhen is a SEZ, which is planed by Deng xiaoping in 1980s.But, the rapid development of Beijing, Shanghai Guangzhou and Chongqing begin at the early 1990s.

Shanghai is a SEZ (special economic zone) in which the Chinese government doesn't interfere with its economy. In Shanghai, capitalism is king. Just imagine how China would be it was full blown Captialism

They don't.13 million people live in Shanghai proper. 20 million live in the metropolitan area here.

MY CITY!!! although i grew up in Stinky Holland. I've been raised by my shanghainese parents, I love visiting there :) its a REAL city! And it will beat NY specially after NY's economic collapse and Shanghai's still growing :)
